A brand born from the passion of its founder, Joan Querol, for craftsmanship. Joan studied design and worked as a fashion designer for several years across different countries. In mid-2023, he created ALIU as a reflection of his travels and the many experiences lived in Colombia.
The name ALIU is an anagram of the word 'manUALIdades', a perfect fusion between traditional Colombian craftsmanship and Mediterranean culture with roots in Barcelona. At ALIU, each piece is a unique work of art, entirely handmade, using distinctive fibres that grow only in Latin America and natural dyes. The creations come to life in collaboration with artisan communities, ensuring that each item tells a story of dedication, heritage and authenticity.
