Luisa Vera, the invisible hand behind THE BARCELONIAN, is not only a lover of The New Yorker covers, but also a true New Yorker. After twenty years living & working in New York City, where she began her career as an illustrator in the 80s, in 2002 she crossed the ocean to settle in Barcelona. Now, about to celebrate 20 years as a Barcelona native, she has just started her particular tribute to the two cities of her life with THE BARCELONIAN: a collective illustration project that pays homage to the legendary New York magazine through the covers of a nonexistent one.
More than 100 artists illustrate their relationship with the lived city, with the city of their loves and hates, to show us corners, scenes, anecdotes and episodes from the multiple perspectives of their unique view.
